Hey all,

I have just brought an Audi A3, S Reg 1999. I have been given one key which does not have remote locking. I was wanting to upgrade to remote locking...do i need to install a device in the car itself or do i just need to get a remote key fob and program it?? I am not sure whether it has the device already installed...

I would be grateful if anyone could enlighten me on this matter.

ok so you bought a used car and the guy didnt give you the remote key. im assuming it has it standard as most audis' do since 1996. im saying the guy lost his key before he sold it to you and didnt want to buy a new one because there 300 dollars canadian at the dealer. Im sure you can just go out, buy one, get it programmed to your car and you should be fine :P

 

^^ what he said... go buy a key with a remote, get it cut and programmed and you're on your way...
