Angry A3 Bi Xenon Headlight problems

Factory OEM Bi Xenon replacement bulbs and Balllasts have been quoted at $1000.00 per side plus labour to rectify intermittent outages. Can ayone help with troubleshooting or much cheaper alternatives to the Vancouver area Audi Dealer that quoted this ? thks Sadies06A3

If you have a great, non-dealer mechanic, who can do electrical work really well, then get yourself the parts and pay for the install. Go to HID Online store. Think their based in California. I got all my replacement bulbs and new HID kits there. GTA dealer wanted $276 + HST for 1 replacement HID bulb installed. No new ballast or wiring.

I got a whole new kit, with better bulbs for about $75 and install was about $100. That included all parts, including ballast, bulbs, wiring, complete professional install of whole system, not just a bulb. That's $100 less than deraler wanted to change a bulb! When bulb goes next time, you're looking at about $30 for the bulb and probably 20-30 minutes of labour max.

Look at the part number. On some occasions the same ones are used by other car manufacturers and they might have them at substantially less. Had a friend that got quoted about the same from Audi here in Calgary, found out that some Chrysler cars used the same ones. Price difference was just crazy from what I remember...

I also think that Sylvania have a section on their website for auto bulbs for all makes, models and years - providing all bulb OEM specs and equivalent bulbs/options - except conversions to LED or HID.
