Default Oil Sludging and Synthetics

What's the latest for everyone on the oil sludge issue with Audi engines, 1999 to 2004?

I'm using an ELF brand of synthetic, bit expensive, but it's recommended in Europe. Anyone having problems with North American syn's? Anyone have sludging problems since Audi made the move to syn's?

I've been using Castrol Syntec without any problems since the car was new in 03 but also change every 7500k as well. No sludging issues to this point.

"Corner of 97 St and 60 Avenue."

ah . . ., thus your challenge. If you went to the intersection and saw a bunch of Audi's and Volkswagens on one corner, you'd be close! Just kidding (, the City is Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Quattro country).
