First of all welcome to the forum. Check out the Vancouver Club out your way. When you say sluggish what do you mean?

Thanks for the quick reply,by sluggish i mean the shift is not as fast as 2 through 6 these shifts are fast smooth with forward progression,1 to 2 is slower and it feels as if it dose,nt want to let go of 1.The shift takes place almost as soon as the wheels start turning and it feels like an old fashioned flat spot and the car bogs down for a split second until 2 engages and then everything goes fine from there, the car has 70000KM so its not had a lot of use.Hope this makes more sense, thanks for your interest.Just one further point, the owners manual makes no mention of maintenance for these transmissions which seems odd as i was always told that the main cause of auto transmission failure was not changing the fluid periodicaly.

Welcome johns!

I have the exact same thing with my '01 A4 1.8T, shifting from 1st to 2nd gear in tiptronic is slightly slower depending on the revs in comparison to 2 through 5.
