Looking to BUy A6 avant??
Hi all, new to here...I am an original VW owner but have since steered away from the German family...currently have a Land Rover which i am selling and a Highlander(wifey car) selling as well.
Looking into getting either a 1999 or 2000 A6 Avant (Wagon), pretty much fully loaded...with about 75000-85000 miles....
What can you guys tell me about this idea, realiability, what problems are normal, etc...the more the better I accept all suggestions....again anything else is less maintenance than my Land Rover and my wife !!
Thanks for the help all

Re: Looking to BUy A6 avant??
if you going that far with year model then open a separate fund account for just car repairs, at this year with that much miles anything can go wrong..
trust me..
the most important if there is a history of the car anything done on it , oil change , maintenance records and so on.. having these records it will give you good idea that the vehicle you might purchase was maintain .. usually cars that were leased are less take care of then those that own it but in some case might not be true..
otherwise main things to look for is if timing belts and other components were done at , next on the list to check the cats,
usually cars with below 90k don't have timing belts done until it reached 90 k or plus.. so you can look at the expense ~1500-2000,..
