I have a 97 a4 1.8t q and im getting really bad road noise/wind noise from front windshield and rear trunk. any suggestions without breaking the bank????


i know dynamat and all those other sound deadeners but im looking for products that are found at crappy tire or home depot........

i heard some roof materials are good and cheap but i also heard they smell when in warmer temperatures.
can i somehow use caulking to stop wind from my windshield???

any advice from any fellow B5 ers?

After i had the unfortunate event of locking my keys in the car it seemed a bit louder. Im guessing it was because the door changed it's shape slightly when they pryed it, so i rolled down the window and put a pry bar through and pushed the top of the door away from the bottom to kind of bend it back. It made it go away but may not help your situation.

^ i've read others do that. I tried doing it with my car once, but just couldnt bend it enough. I was too scared of breaking it. Then I got into an accident around the door that had the wind noise. When it was repaired, they must have realigned the door because the wind noise went away.
