Is this a wheel spacer? 2010 S4 Wheel
Hello
I just swapped my aftermarket winter alloy wheels&tires, for original summer wheels & tires on 2010 S4. The steering wheel feels wobbly after I did that. I read online that it could be because I left the spacer on. However, before taking off the wheel again, I wanted to check if this appears to be a spacer. Past fall, when I put on these after-market wheels & tires, a shop put them on for me, so I'm not sure if they had put on spacers. I took 2 photos. One is slightly farther out, so you see the wheel a bit, with rusty break pad in the background. The second one is a close up which shows the little 'crack' which I assume could be the spacer. Thanks in advance Sasha Forum won't let me post URLs unless I have 5 points, so you will be able to see them by using https:// and then dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34954475/photo%202.JPG dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34954475/photo%201.JPG |

I don't see a spacer there. Just looks like the regular hub. If you take the wheel off then it should be easy to tell if it's a spacer or not. It will be removable. That wheel should be right up against it, spacer or not. That's why it wobbles. It's not tight against the hub.

You are right Tim$2. That was not a spacer. I took the wheel off. I *think* I might have a hubcentric adapter on, but I am not 100% sure - mostly because it doesn't come off easily. But it looks like one - although maybe slightly deformed.
Is the black rubber / plastic part on the rotor the adapter? Attachment 16831 Thanks in advance Sasha |

Yeah, that looks like a hubcentric ring. It needs to come off for your OEM wheels.

Re: Is this a wheel spacer? 2010 S4 Wheel
You need a set of hub centric rings made from of aluminum not plastic. The cheap MIC plastic hub centric rings caused the wobbly steering wheel in your car. Make sure they are installed in the wheels and have the wheels rebalance again. This way the wheel balancing machine reads the total weight of the wheel.
