Default Tires recommendation

so since my wheels were delayed till to the end of the month...i had a chance to decide on tires...

i've pretty much decided to go with Dunlops Sports Maxx...but i was wondering what kind of measurement i should get it in

should i go with stock 245/35/19
or should i go with 235/35/19....

Which A4 came with 245 and 19s stock?

Regardless, the width of your rubber depends on only 2 things: The width of your rim, and the look you're going for (stretch, nip, etc).

235/45/17

235 means the width of the tire in MM (a Dodge Viper has something like 325s)

45 is the ratio of the sidewall to width I believe...this basically tells you the profile of the tire

17 is the diameter in inches...

I'm pretty sure that's what the #s mean.

ok..so from my understanding 245 would give rims a little bit more protection right?...some roads in toronto is just that bad....

and i am taking ther 235/45/19 the 45 is how thick the tires are?....

and the last 1 obviously is wheel size...

seeing how stock is 235...235 should be enough to handle the roads here right?

You should get 235/35-19 tires, and rims should be 19*8.5 offset 32.

That's what the tuners like Oettinger, ABT, Sportec recommended.

No, you shouldn't get 45, it's not the thickness of the tires. GT always explained, "45 is the ratio of the sidewall to width".

For example: 335-35-19 and 235-35-19, both are 35, but the 335 tire will much thicker than the 235 tire.

ET32 is about as small a number as one'd want, just thought I'd chime in to clarify. I run ET35 wheels, and stock is ET45. Anything less than ET30 and the wheels will be sticking outside of the fenders on a B6/B7.

I run ET30 fronts and I just clear the fender lip.

Hit a deep pothole like I recently did and this is what happens
