Tire Totes!

Anyone in the Toronto area know a good spot to purchase "Tire Totes" for my tires?

Preference for vinyl vs the plastic bags. I know Downtown Audi (Toronto) sells a set of 4 for $60 but I'm sure someone here knows of a better deal.

I bought a set of 4 from Canadian Tire for $30 +tax that work great. I couldn't justify twice the price just for totes with the Audi logo...

They are thick vinyl with handles and draw strings to tighten the bags around the tires. They even have pictures on the bags to indicate where the tire came off the car.

I have 225/40/18's and needed the Large bags fyi.

Perfect - thanks! Gonna grab them tonight as I'm picking up some winter tires/rims this weekend.

Walmart Super Centers also had a great price.. They were sold in sets of 2 for 20 bucks.. but if crappy tire has a better deal, go with that.

I have the OEM Audi totes. They're nice, but don't cover the entire wheel. What about the CDN Tire version? Does it offer 100% coverage?

Yes, full coverage with the CDN tire totes... really happy with them actually.

Unless you also buy the felt inserts (pads) the Tire Totes do not protect the front or back of the wheels.
I usually put in pieces of cardboard over the front of the wheels to help protect against any scratching from storage.

I agree. The Canadian Tire Totes provide full rubber coverage but leave the centre open on one side. You could put cardboard inserts . . .or just store the tires with the outside of the rim facing up :)

My only beef is that I wish the drawstring held its position when lifting the tires. I find that they sag when using the handles to carry the tire - but then again we're dealing with 70-80lbs worth of tire. They still are easier and cleaner to carry versus the bare tire.

Yeah, that's exactly what I did.

Also, I mostly solved the problem with the totes sagging when lifting by the handles... the drawstring has to be pulled extremely tight... and it can stand the force. I lifted the entire tote by the drawstring to pull out all of the extra cord and then slide the lock tight up against the bag. This seemed to work well and the bags feel sturdy when lifting.
