Hi, looking to add a set of winter rims for my 2005 A4.
Q: Will the 15" rims from a 2001 A4 properly fit on my car?

15" rims do fit over 1.8t brakes (B5 and B6 cars) but not over the larger front brakes on B7 2.0 cars. You'll have to go with 16's and be careful as I understand there are a few aftermarket 16's that may not fit (a spacer would be required for the fronts). Tiretrends have some relatively inexpensive alloys that work well (look for Sport Edition wheels priced around $130. each); however, you should be able to find used OEM wheels for a bit less.

hi, im looking for some summer rims. there are a bunch of 18s for sale. my question is if i were to buy some 18s would there need to be any mods need to fit them? i have a 2004 a4. thanks

Talk about raising this from the dead ! Perhaps doing a search and then starting your own post would be best ...

The answer to your question is: It depends. The OEM wheel specs provide for a conservative stance (ie: wheels are not pushed out flush) so lowering the offset or getting a wider wheel will look more agressive than OEM. You need to know what your OEM specs are and what different specs will fit the car. Clear as mud ?

OEM specs on my B6 A4: 18x8" dimensions with 5 x 112 bolt pattern with offset of 43.

Here's my B6 with OEM wheels with 8mm spacers in front and 15 mm spacers in the rear effectively making the front wheel offset 35 and rear wheel offset 28:

thanks for the info bud! do i need spacers to fit that particular setup too? when i bought some rims for my passat awhile ago they guy gave me spacers but when the garage tried putting them on they said my bolts were to short to install the rims with the spacers on. i've also noticed there is a bar in my front wheel wells almost hitting the tire (about an inch) and i only have 17s. i think its called a control arm if im not mistaken. so if i were to upgrade to 18s it would hit them?

Hey, you wont have a problem putting on the 18's, just pay attention to the offset on the rims. I used to have 18 RS6 rims and they stuck out way more than the factory 18's because the offset on them is different. As for the bolts being too short its a simple solution - get longer bolts...lol. I have the exact car and color as Stevelev and no spacers still looks good, but not as good as his. As for the hitting if the metal piece its not going to happen. Just do the proper tire set up ( 235/40/18 ) opposed to 225/45/17 and the height of your wheel will actually not change much.
