Need Audi A4 S-Line Tire Advice!
 

I'm looking to buy winter tires for my new 2011 Audi A4 S-Line (19" performance currently).

I asked the dealer and they said I could go down to 17's or 16's.. fine, but they quoted me 16" Michelin Primacy Alpin 3 tires (225-55-16) on alloys for $1,976.00 plus taxes.

Seems steep for 16"..

I looked on tirerack.com and the price seems comparable, for 17" however.

I don't want to end up getting something that's too small for my giant calipers, or something that will screw up my km/h.

I'm looking for size suggestions and brand, for wheels and tires.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

This topic has been discussed quite a few times. Since you are in Ottawa, you may want to check out Ottawa Tires Direct which have a few packages on their web site for A4s.

Ottawa Tire Direct mostly resells Tirerack.com packages. You can order the same thing to the UPS store or the Corporate Center in Ogdensburg and pick them up yourself.

Markus - I went with 16" on our '06 A4 S-line and found used OEM alloys on Kijiji. They did, however, need 10mm spacers to clear the calipers.

Thanks guys for the tips, I decided to go with the dealer's, as I found price wasn't too far off from tirerack when you add in the shipping..

This way I know I can't make any mistakes.. had a look at the rims and they were pretty slick too so..
