Nightmare Audi S5

I've simply cut and paste an email to share a story with you guys. This is mostly an email I've sent to several magazines plus some extra information I was asked for.

To whom it may concern,

I purchased a brand new Audi S5 and it has been giving be continuous problems ever since. I am writing to you offering a somewhat different but very interesting story, Here is the list of problems I've had with the car.

- engine charcoal canister valve faulty
- gas tank actuator motor for the door
- axle malfunction in wheel bearings
- brake motor having to be replaced
- gas/ air entering the engine
- Ldp pump having to be replaced
- headlights blown out
- cracks in dipstick tube pluplug
-malfunction in heating elements
- problems with locking in passenger side door
- faulty cylinder ignition coil causing cylinder misfirings
- e-brake malfunction
- foam seal having to be replaced on driver side mirror
- Frame bolts coming loose and having to be replaced
- Air conditioning tunnel leaking and having to be replaced
- Diver side suspension becoming softer than passenger side.

The car was delivered to me on 16th of July, 2010.
The car has been to the dealership 23 times for fixes other than servicing. I just parked the car and realized that the passenger door does not lock now. The 24th time will be this week.
I do not have the total number of days I have been without the car but there was a period of almost 3 weeks when I did not have the car very recently. (within the last 3 months). There were several times when I was without the car for 2 weeks, and every other time it was usually 3-4 days to a week.
The current odometer meter reading is 78,109km. Would you like me to fax you the details of all the issues with the car? I have the paperwork printed from the dealership where I have been taking the car for all the work that has been done to it. The car has only ever been worked on by Audi.

I believe it would be good for buyers; especially ones here in Canada where there are no lemon laws, to know my story. The car even died on me in the middle of the highway once. All Audi offered me was a mere $2500 off a brand new Audi or $1000 credit in repairs; which I think is nothing at all considering what they charge for cars. I have all the paperwork should any of you be interested.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.

Definitely sounds like lemon and you should pursue Audi for restitution, except for:

Isn't that the definition of an internal combustion engine and the how it's supposed to behave? Just sayin'...

I am sorry to hear of such a brutal story. I've had a stellar experience. That doesn't help you, but there are many great Audis out there. Best of luck with your car.
