TT timing belt vs chain
The early TT had a timing belt, then in late 2011 they switched over to the timing chain when the new engine got variable timing and an extra 11 hp (211). The TTS came out in 2008 and retained the same 268 hp engine with a timing belt until the mark 3 came out in 2015 (or so).
So here's the discussion. Given that I am not ready to spend $60K on a newer TTS, is it better to buy a used 2012 to 2014 TT with the timing chain and do some mods to get the hp closer to the TTS. Or just buy a used TTS with the timing belt? What do think folks?
