Default no brake pressure

Whats up Audi Forum,

I made this account for my lady friend, she has a 1998 a4 1.8 turbo. car started making those beeping sounds which i researched and found that it can be alarm going off for who knows what, but the main problem is that there is no brake pressure. when the car is on or off the brake pedal can be pushed down all the way. So when the car is on and i put in gear or reverse, when i apply to the brakes, the car does not stop until the brake pedal is pushed at least 80-90% down until there is no space to push down further more. im getting that it may be the master cylinder, slave cylinder rear brakes. Im thinking it can be the rear brakes because the car had leaked some type of fluid right under/behind the rear driver side tire.
please let me kno what u guys thinks, im stuck and we need this car running asap/. thank you and i appreciate any help provided

Default Re: no brake pressure

did you check the brake fluid? if you think its leaking brake fluid check the resovoir level if its empty theres a lot of air in there and adding fluid and fixing the leak and bleeding the brakes will fix your problem. Is the red brake light on on the dash? that means low fluid.

I think they're called Black XD Series. Tell him to make sure that his calipers aren't frozen when installing new pads or rotors, better yet replace them or rebuild them if in doubt. This will help to insure longer life and no rotor warping. I've had mine on a Audi A4 for a year and been happy with them.

Luk Schaffer makes a nice slotted cross drilled rotor (this may help keep them cool and prohibit warping) for not a ton of money.
