Default Question about 2014 Q5 + Audio

Took my first test drive in the 2013 2.0 Q5 and loved it. Now I'm debating between the 2.0/3.0/TDI! I've never had a diesel car before...

However, this question is more about the audio options for a 2014 Q5:
1) The ipod adapter - is it still in the glove box? Is it still the non-lightning connector? I believe you can get adapters, but do you LOSE any functionality by not having the actual lightning connector? I imagine it's not nearly as future-proof?
3) Does it have AUX-in?
4) Looking at the 2014 info guides and such, I can't quite determine what gets/has bluetooth audio streaming. How do I determine whether the trim/option has bluetooth calling, bluetooth audio streaming, or both?
5) The B+O soundsystem is a $1k upgrade. I've currently got the stock speakers on my 2007 Accord. I'd ASSUME the base on the Audi Q5 are going to be better, and it'd be unimportant for me to consider the upgrade?

Word of caution, the diesel is a very cool option... I was between the Q5 and GLK250 (diesel) when I was originally shopping around. What discouraged me about the diesel is you need to use DEF, and a fair amount of it at that. Any fuel savings the GLK had over the Audi would have been wiped out by the cost of the DEF required. To me, the entire DEF system seems overly complicated and like it may be prone to trouble down the road.

I guess I should actually read up on that myself. First time I heard about it was from the salesperson, who advised me NOT to think of diesel as a "cheaper" option due to the fuel economy because of ongoing increased maintenance (even though yes, in the end, considering resale value, you probably come out ahead)
So Canadian Tire sells DEF for $9:
Air1 Pure Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for SCR Diesel Vehicles | Canadian Tire

How often would you end up using a jug of that, then?

I know Mercedes sells it for something absurd like 36$ a gallon... although I've heard that flying J sells it for a lot cheaper. That said, I've read on other forums where diesel truck guys were using the cheap stuff and it buggered up the entire system costing thousands to fix.

Hard to tell exactly how much the vehicles use because it is related to how you drive it, I've heard it generally needs to be filled at every oil change, so maybe around 20L every 5000kms?

I found that the dealerships were really downplaying the cost whenever I inquired about it, no average yearly costs were ever given... usually one salesperson who owns a diesel and they say it is "no big deal".

Maybe one of the diesel Q7 guys can chime in on how much it costs a year.

In all these cases you are looking to purchase a 3rd party cable or part, and all are available through eBay or Amazon. For example, I purchased a USB adapter through Amazon, and it worked perfectly with a USB powered 500Gb external drive. There is a huge topic at the Audiworld forum regarding bluetooth streaming.

Personally, I found the best option to be an iPod Classic dedicated to the glove box ...

The B+O system is not the same system found in the more expensive Audis (e.g., A6), but it is very good. I found the music's presence excellent, and the bass not as boomy is the standard system. That said, you'll find many Q5 owners entirely satisfied with the standard audio and most will claim that it's all about how quiet the cabin is.

B&O is well worth the $1,000 upgrade cost IMO. I have built many stereo's in my day and this one is hard to beat for the money.
Many other Audi models are $6,000 for the B&O system (yes its a little different system but not 6 times better sounding, maybe 1.6 haha). For that money I would consider other options.
