Default 2008 Audi a4 2.0T Quattro - Triple Black

Can I us the valet key always because the key fob is way to large to fit in my pocket.
It seems to work like the regular key. Also I can't find the valet button which is supposedly in the glove box. Any ideas?

Valet key lets you unlock the door and start the engine but won't unlock/open the trunk or the glovebox if they have previously been locked using the normal key.

Once I'm in the car, I think I can open all the rest with the switches in the car. Right?

Just try locking things with your normal key first and see what happens. For the trunk there are 3 possible positions the key can be put into - fully clockwise, middle and fully anti-clockwise .

One opens the trunk, one leaves it in normal mode where the interior switch can open the trunk and the last position is a hard lock so that even if you use the remote to unlock the doors, the trunk remains locked and the interior switch doesn't function.

BTW if you have the sedan, I don't think the valet key will unlock the rear seats so that you can fold them down either.

Thanks! I didn't realize the trunk switch on the driver's door becomes inactive. Now I guess I'll use the regular keys. Thanks for the info!

If I set things up so the trunk opens with the inside switches and put the glove box key in that small dash slide out, then I can use the valet key at all times. Am I right? I never valet the Audi
anyway. I like just carrying a key instead of the key fob.
