Default Hello, New to the site!

Hey all!m I currently don't have a Audi....(AS I'M TYPING THIS) But...come Monday, I hope to be the proud new owner of a 2003 Audi A6 4.2L Quattro.. Only thing is it has 236,000km... I dont know any background info.. but from pictures, and what the owner tell's me the cars in (excellent condition)..so they say.. what do you all think? is 236 a little high for the car.. the price is $3650...heres the link i put spaces between http:// cause it wouldn't let me post unless I previously posted 5 other posts.. http : // sudbury.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2003-AUDI-A6-SEDAN-FOR-SALE-W0QQAdIdZ439542106 tell me what you think.. she said it should need nothing for certification except a foglight bulb.. if you don't mind me asking. How hard is it to change the foglight bulbs.. and can I put hid's? and what about the low beams and highbeams could I install hids? my main goal is to just buy it and upgrade it.. but I dont want to if the kms are to high i want to add hp so i'm thinking exhaust intake etc.. let me know what you all think.. thanks! PS.. THE NAMES JORDAN.

Welcome Jrocc,

You have to do a good mechanical inspection of the 4.2 before buying it. It can be crazily expensive to fix (timing chain guides, cylinder scuffing, etc... could set you back $4K-$8K).
Have it inspect by a knowledgeable mechanic and have him perform a compressioin test. If all is good, go for it.
236,000 is OK as long as the engine does not currently have problems. Make sure you do your oil change regularly every 8,000km with good synthetic oil.

The 4.2 also have a tendency to need frequent change(every 3-4 years) of the valve covers gasket but this is nothing to worry about...
