First post here,

I've got a 2012 A4 with the 30 pin adapter for iphone/pad/pod etc... I now have an iPhone 5 and the adapter is different from the one Audi provides (now a lightning adapter). Anyway I ordered a cheap chinese one (1/4 the price of apple's similar adapter)...mistake

The Infotainmnent System doesn't recognize the device, and as a result I can't play my music off of the phone. The phone charges when it is connected, but can not be played thru the Audi system.

advise is to go direct to Apple for adapters. #getwhatyoupayfor

 

Even my apple adapter doesnt work on my 2011 Kia Optima. I dont have an ipod adapter in my Audi so I cant comment on that.

 

you can ask the customer service of chinasinoy.com which is a good web for obd2

 

I do have the genuine adapter from apple (bought the long one) and everything work as intended from both side Apple/Audi my iPhone 5 is recognized and charges the gps features even fades my music to speak the instructions while I use it

I am quited pleased
