No it is not offered in Canada because Audi connect is not currently compatible with the networks of any of the nation-wide carriers here in Canada.

It will be compatible with the release of the next generation of the system but that will not be for a couple more years.

So let me get this straight.. if I order Nav on a 2013 A4 Allroad, I won't be getting the updated version with Google Maps even if it is available in the USA?

As for Audi Connect, why can't we supply our own SIM Card with our data plan?

Correct, Canadian 2013 cars will not have Audi connect.

With next generation of the MMI system that will come in the A3 sedan, you should be able to use a SIM card from whatever mobile provider you have a data plan with.

The current MMI system only works with one frequency which is why the only option the US had was to partner up with T-Mobile. AT&T or other carriers will not work in the US. Just like Rogers, Bell and Telus will not work with the connect system in Canada. There is no nation-wide carrier in Canada that uses the same frequency as T-Mobile.

Audi connect is still in its beginning phases and Germany, the US and Japan were just used as test markets. It will come to Canada because there is a bigger strategy for it, not just Google maps and it will eventually be offered on all models as the next generations of MMI systems are released.

So I take it the system either operates on AWS (1700/2100) frequencies or on only one band of the HSPA/HSPA+ spectrum (PCS 1900MHz)?
