Default SD card unreadable

Hello,

Just took delivery of my 2009 Audi Q5 premium plus with B&O system. The owners manual said the MMI can handle a 4 GB SD card. I bought a 4 GB SDHC card, transferred songs onto it from my mac, put it in the car and got a message that the card was unreadable. The Audi dealership said all I can do is go down to a 0.5 GB card. Is there anything I can do to use a 4 or even 32 GB SDHC card in my 09 Q5.

Thank you

I have a 8GB card in my SD slot no issues. Have you tried using a non HC card?

I have 2 16GB SDHC cards in my Q5, no issues.

Make sure your files are mp3 format, and do not exceed 4000 files.

To diagnose the issue, try a different SD card in your Q5, or try your SD card in another Q5 to determine which is the problem.

Good Luck!

Did the sd card contain other non-music files or folders that might have confused the MMI? When I transfer music from iTunes to the sd card, I don't use any folders. Although I don't suspect this would be too much of an issues since the sd card that I use is from my camera (which usually has non-music files, ie photos).
There was a time that the MMI seemed unable to read my sd card when I immediately went for the import jukebox option. This resolved itself when I chose to play from the sd source, then went back to import into jukebox

Does the non-nav Sline version come with an SDHC card slot as well?

You got your issue resolved? What happened? I have a client with the same issue, looking to advise.

Cheers,
Paul
