Hey guys Question about this leak, i thought it was the valve cover gasket but when i asked the independent Audi mechanic here he told me it wasnt.. and the repair is gonna be a hefty amount. any ideas where its from? the mechanic said it was internal and coming from the actual engine..

I am no expert but had a similar issue with assumingly my expensive head gasket...turned out to be a 10min job with a $5 screw.
Go see someone else and have a quote but they should find out where it is leaking from and what must be done no? instead of wild guessing...

Hmm i dunno about the pictures.. you could try right clicking and open in new tab. that works for me sometimes when i cant view pictures haha i dont know why thou.

And also i dont have anyone else around to go to besides the dealership haha unless theres someone who knows a good audi mechanic that will take a look in the waterloo/kitchener area.

 

I had an oil leak that they could not determine from where (just spots in my parking space).
They added a $12 flourescent dye into my oil.
I drove around for a week, then they inspected under the hood with a black light.
Definitely showed up at the rear of the valve cover.
Had the gaskets replaced.
No leak now.
