Question No sludge-just loose oil pressure sender cable

My 2004 A4 B6 1.8T quattro has a LOF every 5,000km (Castrol Syntec and Bosch premium filters) without fail.

During the last month, my oil pressure warning light came on, then off and on for short periods of time.
Each time it came on, I stopped, checked my oil level (OK). Later, I replaced the pressure sender switch ($30).

Last week, I decided to take it in for a cam shaft gasket change due to a small leak at the rear of the cover.
Gasket replacement completed, my mechanic commented on how clean the cam shafts and under the cover was (I was somewhat relieved to hear this).

This week, 20km from home, my oil pressure light came on and stayed permanently on any RPM above 1500.
Following the correct protocol, I pulled over, switched off, and checked my oil level.
It was at the full mark on the stick.
Not wishing to do any further damage and fearing the dreaded sludge issue, I called a flatbed and was towed to my garage.
I discussed diagnostics and remedies with my mechanic (including pressure testing, and potential oil pan removal and intake tube screen cleaning, $100's in repair costs).
I had imagined gunk stuck in the oil channels or something worse.

I have just picked up my baby good as new ($38.00 later).

Apparently, it was a faulty pressure sender female cable connector that would not stay clicked onto the male sender connector.

He suggests we order a new cable or secure the existing one with a screw.

Caused me big time stress, for such a simple problem and solution!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Damn female connector cables are always giving the male connector a hard time.

Glad it was a cheap fix.
