Default Ein Zwei Polizei

Audi and Police attraction

I have noticed that many times if there is Police around on the road they end up behind my car and follow for long periods of time.
They never gave me a ticket that way, but I started taking pictures of my rear view mirror.
Is it because of the red color on my vehicle or is it because it is an AUDI?
See attached example.

Could you expand on this. Since you were a Policeman yourself I would like to learn more of what are they attracted to.

I am going out shortly and I will take today's picture.

When I was on the force sure I used to target certain vehicles such as muscle cars, hot rods, junkers and mostly cars driven by youth and undesireables. I don't think an Audi A4 fits into any of these categories. On the other hand if your driving habits are such that draws attention than thats another story.

I hope I answered your question.

I do 0 to 50 in 2.5 seconds in Calgary Downtown, but I do not exceed the speed limit.
I get the nitro hondas beside me as well.

I think you just answered your own question and corroborated my previous statement.

It's not the car. Audi's are very common, so I can't imagine that the police really care about them. It's not like we're driving Ferrari's.

Maybe they are following you because you're taking pics of them, isn't it the law where you are not to handle any electronic devices while driving?

No, in Alberta you can still talk on 3 cell phones at once and eat sandwich at the same time and flush it with a drink in a can and while having both hands busy support the steering wheel with your knee. All that counts is how your car is handled on the road.
Radar detectors are legal too.
That is the Wild West.

It could be that Mikeh was right because today I did not exceed 2500 RPM and I was not of interest.
