Cleaning calipers...
Brake dust remover (caliper cleaner at CDN Tire) and a scrub brush. Remove the wheel and give it some elbow grease. While the wheel is removed great opportunity to clean the inside of the rim. My son who is a detailer has some special chemicals and then uses a pressure washer. However, I don't have that luxury here at home.
if you are going to the trouble to clean them, i would suggest getting the duplicolour caliper paint kit. the kit comes with cleaner, brush, paint, paintbrush, stir stick and instructions.
You think powder coating it would do the job?
Powder coating is definetely the way to go if you can afford it. I did the duplicolor on my S4 in Yellow and it looks great. So far it has held up fine.
for sure its a great option. im pretty sure i saw stock calipers somewhere for around$50 each, maybe ebay. it may br worth getting new calipers and powder coating them from new... just a thought
