Default 2002 tt

Hi,
First time on this forum.
I recently purchased a 2002 TT Quatro and the check engine light came on. I borrowed a buddies tester and it came up P0171 Bank 1 is lean.
I would normally think OX sensor but have been told their is another possiblility on this car.
Any help on exactly what the other sensor is and how to pin down which one is bad would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Ted

Have you opened the gas cap and closed it again since the check-engine came on ?

It happens once in a while on mine. The pressure causes a "check-engine" to come on. The first time i called the Audi dealer and he told me to try that first and call back if it didnt fix it. It solved the problem.

Good luck.

Thanks, but it's been on for a while so the gas cap isn't it.
