Another problem with the TT. This time it is the speedometer. It will sometimes say I'm going 20 km/h when in 6th gear @ 3,000 rpm but will soon drop back to 0 km/h. Everything else works on the dash other than the gas gauge but that has never worked properly. The cruise control still works. Am I looked at a sensor, or the cable that runs to the tranny, or replacing the whole instrument cluster?

try to get the new cluster...audi might give you one for free!

 

Yes, I had mine replaced last year. Mine is an 05 TT. Audi replaced mine free of charge.

The dealer will replace it for free?? It's an 01 brought up from the states but will that matter? That would sure be cool if they do it free of charge!

 

yes. but tell then you spoke to audi canada and they told you to bring it in for the cluster issues. we have a post all about the free cluster...about a year ago

 

I called into the nearest dealer and it doesn't seem like they know anything about the cluster issues. They want me to book an appointment but I've fallen on hard times and can't afford to keep making trips into the city or to pay upwards of 2 G's to get it replaced. I wonder if they are just trying to play dumb or what?

 

Your Audi Service manager should know all about this. Mine sure did! There was a class action law suit (I believe) that force Audi to replace them. It is a heat and vibration issue. I would suggest you call Audi Corporate and ask them about it. Once they tell you, "Yes we know about it", tell them about your crappy Audi dealer that doesn't have a clue. That and your cluster should get fixed. That is just the way we do things down here in Alabama. Please adjust as required.

 

I just called Audi Canada. They tell me car hasn't been serviced at an Audi dealer in more than 6 years (I've had it since Nov. of last year) and it has too many kms to fall under the lawsuit. And told me that I'm basically on my own to get it fixed.

 

when i called about it, they told me i had to book an appointment. they then looked at it then ordered me a new one(i had gas and cpu display issues)and i had to bring it back to get the new cluster. if you fight hard for it with audi canada/usa i think they would fold and give you a new one....just keep trying!!!

that is sad!! i feel bad for you dude.....i guess call around to the junk yards and see if you can find one...i think new its $900.00 cdn
