2004 A4 Advice
Hi All,
I am a noob here at the forum, actually just purchased my first Audi A4 2004 1.8T Quattro today.
It has been a long time coming, absolutely loved the 2002-2005 A4 model and just had to wait to finally get one. My experience from the dealer (used car) was less than pleasant, and really came away with a bad taste in my mouth - they took the joy out of getting my Audi!
Anyways, here are some things, and I was hoping on some advice:
1. Price - paid 13,600 - for the car (CDN) and has 117k on it - does this price sound fair? (Plus all taxes etc).
2. The sun visor (passenger) the both clips are broken (the left side of the visor, not the hinge part) so the part on the visor and the part to connect to the car to store - any idea if and where I can get it replaced (besides Audi)???
3. The original owners had a rack on the roof, and there are 4 pieces of plastic stuck to the top of the hood. The used car dealer tried to take it off, but could not, the adhesive is pretty aggressive - any ideas?
Any advise and ideas would be welcome.
Thanks.
Sam.

Grats on the purchase. If possible, stay away from the dealer at all costs. Seems like a decent price considering it was from a dealer. Honestly I'd try a wreckers for the visor parts, they can't be much different than Jetta visors. As for the roof, hmm, heat it up with a hairdryer and try pulling fishing line between the plastic and the roof??? I'm amazed the dealer left that one, just lazy on their part. Hope some of this helps.

Thanks Josh. I have to say the car is great
I love the car, I have had other Euro cars before (VW etc) and always prefer them over Japanese/American cars. You really cannot beat the drive and feeling in the car.
I actually found a detailing place that said that they will remove all of the superficial scratches and the 4 things on top of the hood for me, so looking to get that done. I needed to do a detail anyways, so if they can take that trouble and remove them - GREAT. If not I will definetely be trying the fshing line and heat and see what I can do.
Thanks again for the advice!

I would try using goo-gone I think its called, that stuff is amazing, it is used a lot during the debaddging process so I dont see why it would not work for this. As for the visor clips, I would check with genuine audi parts.com???? google it I am not a 100% sure and if they dont have it on the website they can certanly order it. i would also go to the dealer, the reason being is figuring out the price as a starting point from them, and then browsing around trying to figure out wether or not it is a good deal you are getting. There is no sense in you avoiding the dealer, and then find out that here it was a $100 but you paid with shipping and duty(if from US) overall $90, saves you a big hassle just to throw in the extra $10
Thanks 1Move. will give the dealer a call today and get that price, and then see what I can hunt down online. I will also see if I can find that goo-gone - hopefully that works! Does not damage the paint I gather?
THanks for the advice again.

Hey 1Move, tried that Goo-Gone last night - damn crap would not budge!!! I will try the detail shop and hopefully that can work, but they are doing some construction in the underground parking, so it is too dusty for me to do it now and basically waste that cash for the time.
As for the sunvisor, I saw it on ebay for US$65, and the firm is charging CDN$192. I have to also buy the part that attaches to the car - from the firm is CDN$25. Still looking around to those car scrap places, hopefully I can find something in good quality, or I will buy the one from ebay.
Thanks.
