Default My first post on the forum! (and a question)

Hi everyone

I just purchased a new (to me) 2002 Audi A4 Quattro saloon car, loaded up with a lot of factory packages and addons. So far I LOVE it. I went from a 97 Integra to this. I'm located on Vancouver Island.

So this is my first post, saying hello and what-not. I'm definately not new to forum life, and even ran a forum a couple years ago. I'm also not a noob when it comes to tuning and mechanics (I claim enough to just make me dangerous) but I am definately new on the scene to Audi and VW.

So, I have a couple quick questions. As I mentioned, I am familiar with forum policy and therefore have definately searched for a while looking for my answer. However, can't seem to find it

1. My passenger side font signal (corner) light is out. The bulb needs replacing. How do I obtain access to the bulb housing?

2. The computer sees the driver's side door as -aways- open, even when it's not. I called the local Audi, who told me the entire door latch must be replaced at $200+ not including labour. Does anyone have a better option for me?

thanks, and I hope to be a positive influence on this forum!

Andrew

welcome to the wonderfull world of Audi.

for the lights....there is 4 bolts holding the light assembly in. If you look at the light with the hood open you will find them very easily. take them out, change the bulb, slide the unit back it. its actulay very easy to do. You may want to consider doing the clear corners when you are at it.

as for the door, just go to a junk yard. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is a really good source.

however!!....i dont see how it can be a latch. It seems electrical to me and you need to find the source that is not grouding to complete the circut. it could just be rust or dirt on a contact patch. i will look at my door later...anyone else know the actulay sensor? is it just a plunger?

Thanks, I will check that out for sure. As for the door, I can't find a plunger anywhere.

So, checked it out... do I actually have to REMOVE the light assembly from the car to change the bulb?

Just checking before I do...in case I do and it's for no good reason.

thanks!

I too am new to the forum. I posted on hints and tips (perhaps wrong place). I just bought a 2007 audi (upgrade from 95 integra!) and don't have user manuals. Looking to use ipod integration, bluetooth and program my homelink but don't know how. Any help would be appreciated! Also anyone know where I can download manuals?
