Default Faded interior wood

The wood (or pretend) wood panels on the dash, doors and console of my old A6 is a bit faded. Is there anything that I can do to bring it back to life? Darken it and make it shine again? Thanks.

Default Re: Faded interior wood

Since its faux finish, I have used Polishing Compound/Alcohol/Meguiars PlastiX/Leather Conditionioner in that order to get the gloss restored.

If the fade is real bad, you could take the panel inserts out and then use some light spray paint and top it off with clear coat. But your chances of messing it up, go tremendously.

I make a maple mount for my media player in the ashtray and used stain and lots of tung oil before clearcoat, i got the finish, but not the correct color, but that was raw wood, not a finished plastic.
