Every morning when I start the car;

the engine light is flashing
the car shakes, even when I give it some gas it still shakes like crazy.

I shift to drive and put the gas pedal all the way down, it's doing maybe 10 KMH(!!) - no power at all - I think this time it's dead. By the time I get to the end of my road say 100 yards, the car picks up power and is driving fine but the engine light is solid and on.

I've had ignition coils done (twice), spark plugs, fuel additives but nothing changes. someone suggested the catalytic converter?

You might be in Limp Mode my friend I would find someone with a Vag-Com and get the car scaned that is your best option and it will tell you a lot

 

Thanks 1Move. The car has been scanned (and only) at the Audi dealer, multiple times and the problem still persists. I'll have to take it back again.

 

Get someone with a Vag-com and check the engine ports and see what is fauling out of range you might be able to narrow it down thisway. and do this before you start the car connect and setup the vag-com and then start the car and monitor it
