just noticed this thread now..i actually just recently bought an A4 and the fog light warning comes up everytime i start up the car..but i just checked all the bulbs and they all seem to be working fine..anyone ever had anything like this happen before?

Yeah, there is one clip on each plastic cover that you need a flat head screwdriver to unhook. If you get down low and look up at the cover, you will see a slot where you stick the screwdriver to unhook it.
Then you'll need a Philips screwdriver to take off the fog light mounting, which is pretty easy. Just 4 screws, then pull out the whole mounting and should be self discoverable from there.
Remember not to touch the bulb! haha
