Hi guys I'm new to this forum, I just recently bought a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro with 160ks on it. I seem to have a problem with the odometer turning on whenever i open the driver door after I have turned the car off. If i turn the car off with the driver door open everything is fine. I was wondering if anybody has had this similar problem or possibly know what it is. Thanks in advance.

 

after you close the door, does the light go off after a few minutes? I know with my B6 when i hit unlock on the FOB and then open the door it comes on but after about a min or so it turnes off....

 

No the light doesn't turn off, it stayed on until the battery died and happens every time i turn the car off and open the door. The only way i find to prevent it from turning on is if i open the driver door then turn off the car but I'm sure its not suppose to be that way. And now the battery just keeps dying after 5-6 hours after turning off the car, the battery is new from Glenmore Audi and i was told by somebody it could be faulty I'm not sure if its the battery or something else.
