Default Oil Filter Valve

Any out there do their own oil changes? I took my 2007 A3 to Mr. Lube and I notice a few weeks later that i was losing oil from a valve on the oil filter. Apparently the valve must be pushed in after it is installed.

Anyone else lost oil from this area?

A valve on the oil filter? Don't think i've ever seen that...

Are you losing oil around the filter or the drain plug or somewhere else that I can't seem to imagine?
It is possible that they didn't replace the gasket and just put an new one over the old one which would cause leakage.

I'd stay away from Mr. Lube, some of the stories i've heard from there make me want to cringe. Find a nice indy shop or start DIY oil changing, it takes no time or expertise at all and you save a lot of $ in the long run knowing it was done right.

the dealer did mention when I picked mine up that oil can spill/catch on the undercarriage when they drain it , so possibly that is what happened.
I had this happen on a Forerunner I had and it always dripped for awhile after an oil change.....just a little sloppy on their part.

If the dealer you go to doesn't remove the belly pan to do an oil change, they are idiots and you should stop going there. It takes an extra minute. And whether or not they remove it, any shop should always clean up the mess they made.
