Default VAGCOM Scan Fault Code 17086

Does anyone have any experience with this Fault code:

17086 - Transm. Control Module Electrical Malf. (SAE) or Control Module Defective (VAG)
P0702 - 004 -

I do have the PRNDS constantly flashing, so suspected its related to the TCM, but does anyone have any more details on the code?

Thanks,

17086/P0702/001794 - Ross-Tech Wiki

Not a lot of extra info around - control module replacement looks like the recommended solution. You have the CVT transmission and there are multiple reports around about that transmission eventually having problems

Yup, that's what I figured. The unfortunate thing is I had the TCM replaced 3 years/47,000km ago which is beyond the 1 year warranty.

Thanks,

So I've had my TCM replaced for a second time now at only 112,000km's, first time was at 65,000 km.

Sux and it looks like you'll need one at 150,000 km or so. I'd look around for a different manufacturer of that part or maybe see if someone can fix it.
