DIY 2004 S4 4.2L V8 Chain and guide replacement in progress
Hello everyone!
I've been looking everywhere for a DIY on the timing chain and tensioners. With no luck I decided to try and make one. The car has the guide slapping sound. It's currently at 175,000km. Smoking really bad, head gaskets and valve seals will also be changed at the same time. I look forward for all help and experience this forum has to offer.

I am using the DIY: Audi B6 / B7 S4 Complete Engine Removal Guide ? Cuccaro Garage. For the engine removal. I will continue from where he left off.
Below is current progress.

I am up to phase 7 of the removal. Trying to secure an engine hoist to remove it. Can't seem to find a 1/2 ton one. Don't want to spend too much on it.

Before replacing my timing components I decided to change my head gaskets and valve stem seals. Found that one of my cylinders is scratched. Block is now getting sent out to get sleeved. This is getting more complex then I thought it was going to be.
