Ok...I feel like an idiot, but I can't seem to find the tool kit the manual refers to. Apparently there's supposed to be a kit with some tools in it (for instance, for closing the moon roof in an emergency) in back under the floor. From the manual it looks like a bag in the storage box. But there was nothing in my car. The dealership tells me it's by the spare tire, but all I can find it a filler (I think) that is inside the spare with a wire connected to it. It looks like you need a screwdriver to open this, so I'm not sure if the kit is inside. Doesn't really make sense. BTW, does anyone know what this thing is for?

So, can anyone tell me if they received a tool kit with their Q5, and where they found it. Thanks.

Hi Steve:

Where the spare tire is there is a latched compartment, under the carpet you should be able to find it. I've never actually used it but that's where it is. Try fully removing the spare tire and don't be scared to detach the wire. The spare tire is deflated so it should be very easy to move.

The wires connected there are for the rear sub-woofer, you can disconnect and reconnect them as needed.

So is that the subwoofer inside the spare tire? I had no idea!

Its under and around the spare tire but the connectivity to the sub goes through the wires connected to the spare tire.

Pretty neat setup.

Yeah I too just recently found it after owning the car for 7 months. Its pretty neat how the car has 2 subs perfectly positioned in the front and back. I am sure this is only the case with the B&O upgrade.

Afretes...she did, but it was a pretty cursory overview. Thanks warcity, after completely emptying the back ( including the spare.. Which wasn't necessary...you can access with spare in place) I found the Jack and tool kit.
