What's Your Dealer doing for you on backordered parts?
Hi everybody.
Place the order for the new Q at the end of March. Since then, we’ve learned the earthquake and tsunami in Japan has affected our back up camera options and reduced colour choices for the 2012. My Audi dealer called last week to offer me a $250 price cut for the camera (my vehicle will have some kind of motion sensor) and a promise to install the camera for free when it becomes available. He’s also offering a $ 600 Audi voucher for aftermarket OEM merchandise because our colour choice is no longer available. Oh, and one more thing... the B& O sound option for 2012 is now $100 cheaper. Curious to know if other Q5 owners-in-waiting are being offered something similar ? Should I be pressuring my dealer to sweeten the deal ? |
Re: What's Your Dealer's Best Offer?
Of course what ever deal you're getting with the dealer, make sure to have it in writing, and if possible, get it written on the bill of sale. Both you and your dealer would initial beside any changes. If you're getting $600 Audi voucher, try pushing it to the $750 Audi Care. Consider also looking through the aftermarket catalog to see if there is anything you'd actually get @$600.
Good luck. |
Re: What's Your Dealer's Best Offer?
Sorry... nube question.
What's "$750 Audi Care"? Other than floor mats and overpriced cargo boxes, there's not much in the Audi accessories offering I really need. Goodness knows I'm already supporting the brand brand with the new Q5 purchase. Can't see myself sporing $600 worth of Audi branded golf shirts, luggage and coffee mugs! ;) |
Re: What's Your Dealer's Best Offer?
Audi Care is a maintenance package. You get all maintenance paid up until a certain amount of kilometers.
Just don't forget that the first oil change is always free even if you don't get Audi Care. |

I would definitely try to get Audi Care - 750 value. Even if you would have to add 150$ on the top of it - it's worth. At least you would get something valuable out of that 600$.
