Did anyone here order the trailer hitch with the 2018 Q5?

Is the trailer hitch a factory installed or installed by the dealership?

The trailer hitch costs around $900, what about the installation cost?

 

Yes, I'm hoping to draw some attention to this thread as I am going to order a 2019 SQ5 early in first quarter 2019, and I need a hitch...

Could some one elaborate a bit on this please?

What does the 2019 Q5 look like?

The 2018 Q5 needs to install the trailer hitch after arrived to the dealership and remove the rear bumper in order to install the hitch. This is what I do not like for a brand new car and I prefer to install from the factory.

Maybe, the 2019 model can be factory ordered the trailer hitch, who knows.

Mazinger, I can't say for sure, but I reckon the '19 SQ5 will look much like the '17/18 SQ5s, as the Q5 revamp is quite recent.

I've googled photos of Q5 towing, it's OK. But actually, I wish to have the hitch installed for a hitch mounted bicycle rack. I don't want my bikes up on the roof for a variety of reasons. I do not actually intend to tow anything at this time.

 

Since the trailer hitch will be installed by the dealership (as I was told and not from the port). At this time, it is overpriced (almost $2000 installed) , I hope the price will drop later.

 

On October 6 2019 i got a verbal quote from the dealer that for a trailer hitch installed, would be around 1900 bucks...

All i want to do is carry some bikes also, and not happy with the roof rack systems out there..
