Boomerang: My insurance company forces me to have one but it saves me about $500/year on my premium (The Alerte Espion model). Device + installation $499 at my delaer. FOrced them to give me same price as Lebeau/Duro/Vitroplus were charging. I think after that it would cost around $200/year for the surveillance fees.

I am adding this comment for newer readers, realizing that original poster made decisions long ago! For Boomerang, or now "Espion", the cost for the base system is $349 + taxes. No on-going fees, guaranteed for 5 years. This is a no-brainer, as the insurance company quoted me on 2 different cars, with and without. $600/yr less with a tracking system than without. As such, the system is paid for in about 7 months, and additional savings even if it fails after the 5 year warranty expires is $2,620 or so.
