Rain Sensor Window Closing - Is it possible?

Hi Everyone,

I came across this interesting VAG-com mod on a Tiguan forum (see below).

When this feature is activated, it sounds like the windows/sunroof close when the rain sensor detects rain.

Has anyone tried this mod?

VWVortex.com - Some VCDS (VAGCOM) changes for the Tig

Open/Close windows, tilt sunroof via remote & close when rain detected:
09 Cent. Elect.
In coding select the second item in the drop down list, RLS
Original coding: 00208933
New coding: 00471077
46 Central Conv.
byte 6, bit 5: Uncheck "Comfort function power windows/sunroof via remote control inactive"
byte 7, bit 2: Check "Comfort opening power windows via remote control active"
byte 7, bit 5: Check "Comfort closing power windows via remote control active"
byte 8, bit 2: Check "Opening sunroof via remote control active"
byte 8, bit 5: Check "Closing sunroof via remote control active"
byte 8, bit 6: Check "Sunroof open type (0-slide, 1-tilt)"
byte 9: Select 02 "Rain closing active"

Note that I added the "rain closing" feature - you may not want to do this if you have dogs or young children.

That is fantastic. I am going to have to hit up my VAG-COM friends to try this out.

I will try this on the Q5 this weekend and post results. Not sure how useful this would be, for this to work the ignition would have to be on, if the ignition is on that means the drive is in the car, if the driver is in the car they can just close the window/sunroof manually when they see rain. Nevertheless, it's COOL.

Good find and good post.

Hi Warcity,

That's a good point you make.

This feature probably allows you to stay focused on driving, for what it is worth.

I tried it, no luck. RLS is 3rd on drop down and the original code is different so I didn't want to change and mess around with it. I think Audi's instructions are different. If someone had luck it it with tweaks let us know.
