Default Q7 Brake Pad Suggestions

Hello Everyone,

Our 2012 Q7 TDI is starting to demonstrate the dreaded "school bus squeaking" when braking. The rears need to be done for sure, and I think I am just going to replace the fronts as the dust the OEM pads generate make it a challenge to keep the 21" wheels looking sharp.

I have seen some suggestions on the web about Hawk Pads, has anyone tried those?

I have used Wagner Thermo Quiets on my BMW 8 series cars that have stock brake setups and they are surprisingly good, ceramic pad that are very affordable. I was on Rock Auto's site and noticed that they have pads for the Q7 and there is a rebate to boot. Just curious if anyone has tried these? If not I may make myself the guinea pig at $43.33 CAD for the fronts and $35.68 for the rears before a $30 discount...

If there are any others you have tried aside from OEM, please reply as I am curious for feedback on what people have tried.

Cheers,

Rob

I had Hawk pads on my Q7 and they were awesome. Lasted 3.5 years and not a squeak or squeal. I think they were the LTS model.
