Q5 Turn Signal Bulb

One of the the things I really admire about the Q5 is the fact that almost everything is LED. Well by everything i mean the rear and front tail/head lights. One thing that's odd is why oh why didn't Audi put LED turn signals in the front head light? BMW has it, Mercedes too why not Audi?

I bravely reached in and took the bulb out (very easy to do). Now I am trying to search the net for Amber LEDs. If I am successful I will let you know and post instructions.

Cheers.

Re: Q5 Turn Signal Bulb

I have some new information: The light bulb and the light bulb housing is ONE PIECE do not try to pull them apart. Downtown Toronto Audi has NO CLUE what the model is and they don't have it in stock (this is quite funny). I have been in touch with several eBay power sellers who specialize in LED lighting and non have a light bulb for this car. I am going to hold off on this.

Hi All: I met up with an ebay power seller who sells nothing but LED lights. He's truly an expert. I took out the Q5s turn signal bulb and he told me he's never seen such bulb, looks conventional but trust me it's not. For now no chance of LED signals folks, we have to wait until such LED (with built in resistor) is built. Here are some pictures of what it looks like.

hey warcity, a little bit off topic here, but do you know if it's possible to swap the halogen daytime running lights to LED's? or at least something brighter than the standard yellow?

If you want LED you'll have to change the entire headlight housing to LED/Projector. But if you just want something brighter you can change both (or either) DRL or main light to HID. All you need is a simple HID plug and play kit which will cost you no more than 100 bux with a very easy install. Lots of them on ebay.

PM me if you need more details.
