Q5 Fuel Reserve
Audi lists the Q5 tank capacity as 75 liters with approximately a 10 liter reserve warning. I have now run my fuel level down twice to the point of having the warning light appear with its cute little "bing". Each time I filled up within 10km. The first time I got 72 liters into it and the second time I got 70 liters into it. This does not seem to add up to a 10 liter reserve ...
Either the tank capacity is underestimated, or the fuel warning light is coming on with only about 5 liters left. I would prefer the former to the latter so asked my dealer. I received no definitive information other than "everything is approximate" but I was warned that I should not let the tank get so empty in order to have sufficient fuel to cool the fuel pump. I was admonished to fill up as soon as the tank was half empty.
What is the experience of others?

I've went 82Km with my 3.2 L. This is 82km "after" the gas light came on. I didn't want to risk it beyond but my guess is 100Km.
Bad idea to let your tank run dry though all the residue ends up in the engine.

Same experience as you when I wait until the light comes on to fill up. I usually don't wait that long but lately I was waiting to see if the prices would drop a bit.
