I brought my vehicle into Apple autoglass which fixed for about $100 and sent bill to insurance co., you pay nothing out of pocket and does not affect insurance rate. It's in your insurance company's best interest to cover repair as quite frequently if you do not repair eventually the crack will expand and complete windshield replacement is necessary. Also with regards to your paint scratch just use the repair paint stick and when you've accumulated more scratches and dings get them repaired all at once, you'll probably save some monies.
