Default My Q5 won't move!

I have no idea what is going on, I swapped on my winter tires last night and this morning when I went to back out of the garage it just refused to budge. Reverse, forward... it doesn't move an inch

So much for being to work on time

Electronic Parking brake still on? Torque setting on lugs? Wow wish I could help.

What a way to start my Monday…. Turns out the studs for my winter rims are shorter than the studs for my summer ones. Once I replaced the studs the wheels rotated freely again.

Wow in a way lucky you didn't loose a wheel. Saw a guy just at the south Airdrie overpass this morning and yup lost a front wheel. I'm sure it was a summer winter change over.

Yeah had I been going from winter to summer rims with the same studs it might have been too short, and wheels could have been flying everywhere!... kind of scary to think of actually.

I was worried I might have damaged the hubs, or maybe the ABS/speed sensors with the longer studs, but it seems ok today.

I am actually pretty meticulous about my tire changes, every stud was torqued and air pressure set perfectly. This is the first car I've owned where you have wheel studs instead of lug nuts... I didn't even think to check the length.

Lucky that you didnt damage anything. Happy you got it sorted out though. I run the same thing on my car and have longer bolts for summer, I painted those black to match the rims so I can never screw up.

Yeah I won't be doing that again, haha.

Good reminder to other owners who are new to the brand too, beware the studs!

I'm fascinated by this situation you found yourself in. I am confused why your vehicle refused to budge with the shorter lug bolts. Could someone explain this to me? I used to swap between my stockers and a set of summer rims on my previous Q7. I was using the factory lug bolts for both sets. Do some of you have alternative lug bolts for your winter wheel set ups? I am awaiting a set of lug bolts from Hartmann for the 20" rims I purchased just recently. I was confused why they would even bother, but now that I have come across this thread, it's starting to make more sense.

I think the OP used the longer summer bolts for his winter wheels which required shorter ones...
