Limited traffic flow data in Toronto
I am only getting traffic flow data (through Sirius) for a small section of the Gardiner Expwy... can anyone else confirm that this is all you are getting? Incident reporting appears to be fine. When I first activated the service, I had a bit more coverage including DVP upto 401 and sections of 401. That seems to have disappeared now and I wonder if its a broadcast issue or hw issue on my side. Checked Buffalo, NY and there is lot more traffic flow detail showing on my map for that city. Unfortunate that Sirius Canada is taking so long to fully deploy the service... the data appears to be available at the NAVTEQ site but the implementation is slow. I even had traffic flow coverage for non-highways on my Garmin which used MSN Direct Traffic and this was 2 yrs ago :-(

Re: Limited traffic flow data in Toronto
Are you still in your 3 month trial version?
Traffic service isn't available in Canada. Read my thread here https://www.audiforum.ca/q5-q7/51716...es-canada.html |
Re: Limited traffic flow data in Toronto
My trial is up but I am signed-up again through Sirius USA. So like you mentioned in your very informative thread, traffic service is available in Canada, but not offered for subscription by Sirius Canada. So my question remains, for a few days during my trial period and for a few days during my subscription sign-up period, I had traffic flow info for most major hwys but now its just a short section of the Gardiner which shows the green/yellow/red highlights. For those still on trial or subscribed, do you get just the very limited flow info like I do?

Re: Limited traffic flow data in Toronto
Yes I too find in most major Toronto hwy including 401 traffic information is limited. However when I am navigating to a destination where the navigation is active and directing I find that traffic information is fairly decent. Unfortunately this is a live with until Canadian provider start providing information locally but I share identical experience so you're not having an issue.

Thanks warcity. Glad to know I'm not alone. Going to try and call Navteq and see if I can log this issue with them.
