Default Hitch Options

Hi looking to get a hitch for my Q5 and also willing to install myself (have vagcom).

Am I basically limited to buying the hitch from the dealer here in Canada?

I've not seen many other options other than the curtis hitch on ebay and other spots.

I thought of doing it myself and light harnesss is really tuff to install and also bracket for hitch is in a really tough location also does it affect any warranty issues...

The hitch installed by the dealer is really nice. It tucks under the bumper without affecting ground clearance and is appropriately robust. Mine came with a substantial 2" hitch, the electrical conversion device to North American 4/5 pin wiring, and even a neat little Audi logo cap for the 2" receiver. It was expensive, but worthwhile from my perspective.

The Q5 tows beatifully.

thanks. had read all about the hitch and also install process. i was merely wondering if there was a cheaper option than buying direct from dealer - guess i was hoping to save some money along the way. I am planning on installing OEM version .
