Ventilated seats are not available due to the importer, is not an error of Audi.

Audi is not an error that can not be paired with your phone, the phone it costs 100-500 U.S. dollars, and maybe he has a software problem. No one can make software for a car that is compatible with all phones.
My friend has a problem with the Galaxy S4 in his BMW 5

As I said, a manufacturer can engineer as many conditions as they want in order to initiate a remote start. My truck requires nine conditions to be met.

I buy my vehicles from an Audi dealer. Audi is responsible for their vehicles and their dealers.

I agree that software cannot be designed to be compatible with everything but Audi's Bluetooth seems more limited than some others. Someone purchasing an new Audi or Audi owners purchasing a new phone should take this into consideration.

To be fair, Audi is not the only one remiss in offering some of these options. Of all the vehicles in this class, the Lexus RX seems to have the most complete list.

I agree with the Q5 needing options for heated wheel, ventilated seats, and remote start. Those would be the three major things I miss from it myself. The one other semi-minor one would be the automatic high / low beams for highway driving. My 2010 Cherokee even has this feature. Nice for spirited mountain driving when one should have hands mounted to 10&2 at all times .

Until Europeans adopt a lazier North American lifestyle, German cars will trail the domestic brands in terms of gimmicky options. I remember watching a review of an European car and the reviewer was upset the cup holders wouldn't hold a Big Gulp. Not saying I don't want ventilated seats (my Kia has them) or a heated steering wheel, but they aren't exactly in demand where these cars originate. Just my $0.02.

This part will probably bother me the most :(. What's so much better about it?

And I have no doubt the Domestics and Asians will be quite happy if the Germans keep thinking that way.

I don't consider a heated steering wheel any more gimmicky than a heated seat on a cold morning. They should go together on vehicles costing this much.

I totally agree. The other manufacturers are totally capitalizing by equipping their cars with all the creature comforts (better term than "gimmicky") the North American buyer seems to yearn for. Thing is, my Kia has more bells and whistles than German cars costing twice as much, but it is obvious after two years of ownership that this is where engineers focused the majority of their attention. Personally, I like that Audi hasn't gone this route, and remains dedicated to the actual engineering and performance of their cars.

Re: Heated steering wheel?

My last couple of cars had TPMS... what a nightmare, really. I had to pay extra for sensors when getting winter tires, then had pay extra for flashing it when I put the tires on, with my truck I like to run lower pressures off-road and it bongs and flashes lights with messages running across my display screen the entire time. So happy the Q5 didn't come with it standard, haha. It takes all of 10 seconds to check air pressures on your car, TPMS is just an annoying nanny system IMO.

As for heated steering wheels (and heated seats for that matter), I agree with 55cadillacking it is just gimmicks. One of the reasons I picked the Q5 was because it didn't have stop/start... it didn't have 72 separate sensors that watch me and flash a coffee cup light when it thinks I am tired... it was simple, very focused on being comfortable and precise and leaving the driving to the driver.

Anyway, not taking away from other peoples opinions on the matter. I totally get that some people value these things more than I do (I tend to be a bit of a minimalist / purist when it comes to my cars), and considering the competition it is pretty sparsely equipped.

I tend to agree on the TPMS. I keep a tire gauge in every vehicle and wouldn't be without a compressor in my garage.

BTW, only the 2.0t comes without stop start. Both the 3.0t and TDI have it, although it can be turned off.

I don't have a problem with a lot of these things being made optional for the people who don't want them, but there is a big difference between a customer saying, "I don't want it" and a manufacturer saying, "You can't have it".

Guys the so called cooling ventilated seat is a rip off. I have it on my A7, it's just a fan that circulates air (does not cool) and even the fan you barely feel. My heated steering same thing it gets warm very minimal warmth. Don't feel bad about not having it.
