Default fuel tank back pressure
2011 Q5 Prestige: When fuel level is 1/4 tank or below, back pressure from fuel tank prevents refueling for about 5 minutes.

This used to happen to me on my old A4 but hasn't happened on my 2012 Q5, don't think there is much you can do about it.

I know exactly what you mean! I've had this happen now on four occasions...it's becoming a PITA. Car goes in for oil soon, going to ask my service advisor about this.
