Default DRLs and Turn Signals

Hi, would anyone know what needs to (can) be done to ensure both DRLs stay on while turn signals are activated? I've talked to techs at Audi dealerships who aren't even aware of the fact that one DRL turns off while turn signals are on (whichever side the signals are on at that time).

Thank you!

You can override the default by utilizing Vag com using a Ross Tech cable. Not sure what vehicle you have but if you google search your model and winking drl light you will find instructions and the code to update. Your dealership won’t help because when they run diagnostics they reset it back to factory.

Why? Most cars work that way.

Because it's a dangerous system that makes no sense. I was changing lanes (I actually use signals, I know, most people have no idea what those are) and a very special person who was backing out of his driveway (this just proves his lack of intelligence) glanced at me for a split moment and saw the DRL turning back on. He thought I was flashing him, telling him that I was letting him back out in front of me. This was not the case and lucky for me, I fully expected him to be stupid and try to kill me. So I was ready for it and avoided a collision. He was actually angry because he claimed that I flashed my lights at him and then didn't stop to let him out of his driveway. Side note...I was travelling in the driving lane and when I saw him backing, I decided move over into the passing lane to be gain more distance from him.

What year and model do you have? There are a lot of newer cars that cancel the DRL when the signal is in use. I wouldn't modify my car because of one idiot who can't tell the difference between a LED DRL strip and a headlight.
